Cobham utilized the customer furnished part geometry and designed, developed the composite design to meet stringent weight and tolerance requirements. RTM was selected to meet out-year production rate targets of 15,000 part per year. Cobham designed custom performs and developed and qualified the RTM manufacturing process. Parts are molded net in multi-cavity tooling. Several post molding finishing steps are completed and each part is tested to customer specifications prior to shipment. Cobham has delivered over 3,000 components on time to date.
